Sell Charlie? This can’t be happening.

I received an interesting call yesterday call last week from John Forbes from Black Forest Racing. He said that someone called him claiming to know the son of the original owner of my car. The person called his shop because he saw the car in video that Black Forest Posted on their website.

When I heard that, I instantly said, “John, the car isn’t for sale.” John said “I know, but, you should call him out of respect.” So I did. And what I found out is amazing.

Apparently, the car was previously owned by a gentleman who passed away a couple years ago. When he died the car passed to his wife. I guess the wife didn’t get along with the man’s adult son, and wouldn’t give it to him. He offered to buy it, but, she refused. She then sold it to me.

Long story short, he has the rear bumpers and wanted to offer to give them to me for the car. Additionally, he said that if I would be willing to sell the car he would like to buy it.

I know I got a deal when I bought the car. But, I didn’t realize that I was buying it from someone that was really just trying to keep it away for its original owner’s son.

Off-handedly, I grabbed a number of out of thin air, and said I wouldn’t consider selling the car for less than that. He said – Done.

Sell Charlie? Seriously? My wife gave me a keychain for the car for Christmas two days ago. Now I am supposed to sell it? Or keep it and live with the fact that it really should be with its original owner’s son?

Now what? I have an incredible offer for a car I have only owned for about a month, and was expecting to own forever. Making it more difficult, the offer is from the son of the original owner.

I know what I have to do. I just can’t believe it. I am actually going to have to go find another tangerine 912.
