After the prepurchase inspection, I flew back to Orlando, met my family at the airport, and flew to new York for the marathon that weekend. But the whole time, I was thinking about the Signal Red 356 Cabriolet in Michigan.

The broker for the car got me in touch with the seller directly, and we had a few calls. He wanted to know what my Porsche background was. I felt like I was being interviewed to marry his daughter, more than negotiating a car purchase. But, we got along well. He really wanted the car to go to someone that was going to drive it.

By Saturday night, we had agreed on a price. I think he was happy with the outcome, as was I. It had been three weeks since deciding to buy a cabriolet. Now it was time to figure out how to get it home. From Michigan!
